Bill Nichols has had an extensive career in journalism. Bill began as a reporter for the Indiana Daily Student in 1977 and later worked as a reporter for the Jackson Clarion-Ledger from 1980 to 1984. In 1983, they joined USA TODAY as a reporter and remained there until 2007. From 2007 to 2012, they served as the Managing Editor at Politico, and then as Editor-at-large from 2013 to 2015. In 2015, they joined Freedman Consulting, LLC as the Vice President.
Bill Nichols attended Anchorage Public School from 1964 to 1972. After graduating from high school, they then went on to attend Eastern High School from 1972 to 1976. Following their time at Eastern High School, they enrolled at Indiana University Bloomington from 1976 to 1980, where they pursued a degree in English-Journalism with a focus in Journalism.
