Raj Mehra

Raj Mehra has a diverse work experience in the banking and financial industry. Raj started their career in 1987 as a Senior Analyst at Bank of America and then went on to work at Franklin Savings Bank as a Vice President. Raj continued to advance their career as a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase and later at Credit Suisse First Boston. In 1998, they joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Director of Financial Risk Management, where they built and led the risk management consulting business.

After leaving PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2001, Raj held several executive roles in different banks. Raj was the Senior Business Manager at Fannie Mae from 2003 to 2004. In 2005, they became the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Urban Trust Bank, where they played a key role in the company's founding and securing regulatory approval to acquire the bank.

In 2009, Raj joined Fidelity Co-operative Bank as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, achieving significant accomplishments in balance sheet management and reducing exposure to rising rates. Raj then moved to Middleburg Bank in 2009 as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer, where they contributed to the growth of a publicly traded community bank holding company.

Most recently, Raj has been working as the EVP and Chief Financial Officer at Freedom Bank of Virginia since 2017. In this role, they bring their extensive financial expertise and leadership to support the bank's operations and financial strategy.

Raj Mehra began their education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1978 to 1983. Raj then went on to pursue further education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, obtaining a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1983 to 1985. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Accounting and Finance at the same institution from 1985 to 1987.
