Genoveva Garcia Lcsw

Genoveva Garcia, LCSW, has extensive experience as a licensed clinical social worker, providing individual, couple, and family psychotherapy in private practice since August 2014. Additionally, Genoveva has been a family therapist at Freedom Institute, assisting families with substance misuse and addiction issues since August 2017. At the Ackerman Institute for the Family, Genoveva serves as clinical faculty and teaching faculty while also holding the position of intake coordinator. Prior experience includes serving as a psychological counselor at Lehman College from 2012 to 2014, focusing on assessment interviews and treatment for college students, and working at the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health as an intake coordinator and psychotherapist from 2006 to 2011, where Genoveva coordinated intake processes and provided psychotherapy for individuals and families facing various challenges such as high-conflict relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Educational qualifications include a Master of Social Work from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Instituto Tecnologico y Estudios Superiores de Occidente.
