Melissa Sauer has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Melissa started their career in 2005 at UNO Restaurants, LLC as a Lead Bartender and Server Trainer, where they worked until 2009. From 2008 to 2009, they also worked at Wrentham Public Schools as a Special Education/ABA Paraprofessional. In 2010, they became an Elementary Classroom Teacher at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and stayed in this role until 2012. Melissa then worked as an Elementary Classroom Teacher at the Department of Defense Schools from 2012 to 2014. Melissa joined Liberty County School System in 2014 as an Elementary Math Teacher and worked there until 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they worked at Connections Education as an Instructional Designer before moving to Drury University as an Academic Advisor from March to October in 2018. In the same year, Melissa also worked as an Implementation Specialist at Aperture Education, LLC from May 2018 to April 2019. Currently, since 2019, they are a Classroom Teacher at the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) or (DoDDS) with an anticipated end date in May 2023. Additionally, Melissa has been an Instructional Designer at Freedom Learning Group since December 2018.

Melissa Sauer (She/Her) has a diverse education history. Melissa completed their Bachelor of Arts in History and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Teaching at Bridgewater State University from 2004 to 2008. During this time, they also pursued a double major, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Melissa went on to pursue a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the American College of Education from 2012 to 2014. Melissa specialized in Digital Learning and Teaching with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction.

In 2022, Melissa enrolled at Arizona State University to obtain a Gifted Education Certification. Melissa completed this program in 2023, further enhancing their expertise in education.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Melissa holds two additional certifications. Melissa obtained an Elementary Education Grades 1-6 certification from the Massachusetts Department of Education in June 2008. In June 2017, they also received an Elementary Education certification from GAPSC.
