Dennis Ren

Dennis Ren has a diverse work experience in electrical engineering roles. Dennis is currently working as a Lead Electrical Engineer at Freeform since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Electrical Engineer at Freeform from November 2021 to October 2022. Dennis also has experience working at Apple as a Hardware Design Engineer (Vision Pro) from March 2019 to November 2021. During their time at Apple, they were responsible for the end-to-end ownership of Optical Module boards and interconnects. Dennis also worked as a Hardware Development Engineer Intern at Amazon Lab126 from June 2018 to September 2018, where they designed efficient data collection and signal processing tools and developed diagnosis firmware packages. Before that, Dennis held various roles at SEDS UCSD, including Colossus Project Manager/ Chief Engineer from May 2016 to May 2018 and Electronic Systems Lead from January 2015 to June 2016. In these roles, they designed and constructed actuation/ignition systems for rockets and built avionics bays capable of recording data for rocket recovery. Additionally, Dennis interned at Apple as an iPad Systems EE & Core Input Devices Intern in 2017 and at Tesla Motors as a Test Equipment Engineering- Mechatronics Intern in 2016.

Dennis Ren attended UC San Diego from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Shawnigan Lake School from 2011 to 2014, completing their high school education and obtaining a High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates. In addition to their formal education, Dennis holds certifications as a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate from Dassault Systèmes, which they obtained in December 2016, and in the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM): Fire Hazards in Oxygen Systems Training from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, which they acquired in May 2016.
