Freelance Web Designer

My interest in web design began as a self-taught coder in the MySpace era. Growing up in Troy, I took a few high school courses on website development that led me to a newfound love for cascading style sheets. To pursue my passion for digital design, I acquired a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts with a major in Graphic Design from Western Michigan University’s comprehensive program in 2015 — where each graduating class consisted of 20 hand-selected students. I began freelancing in 2014, focusing on logo design and visual brand identities. Later, I expanded my offering to include web design, digital marketing, and print design. In 2019, I founded Sam DeLoof LLC to specialize in providing custom website solutions for clients across the country. In addition to freelancing, I have two years of experience working at Circa Creative Studios as a Studio Coordinator & Designer, helping establish their second location in Kalamazoo, MI. In 2017, I founded the Kalamazoo chapter of the professional networking group Ladies, Wine & Design. I organized and hosted monthly events for two years to promote connections and facilitate conversation within the local creative community. When I’m out of the office, you can find me keeping up with the drama on Bravo TV, cheering on the boys at a Griffin’s hockey game, or staying active with my terrier mix, Cami. Combining my love for dogs and fashion, I’m also working on launching an online store of small-batch goods for the whole pack.
