Daniel A. Baylson is a Partner in Freeman, Mathis & Gary’s Cherry Hill office. Mr. Baylson’s practice focuses on the defense of claims in the areas of employment and related matters, tort and catastrophic loss, and construction defects in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Mr. Baylson works diligently to obtain the best possible resolution for his clients. Clients appreciate the focus and attention to detail he provides to resolving every matter as well as his ability to address potential issues which could arise in the future.

In Mr. Baylson’s employment practice, he regularly handles matters before federal and state courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and also before administrative agencies including the EEOC, the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission. His labor and employment practice encompasses the issues that employers may face in managing and interacting with employees, including employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, wage and hour claims, FMLA and ADA claims, and disputes surrounding enforcement and defense of non-compete, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements. He also advises clients on various employment decisions and develops strategies for best practices, policies and procedures, employment handbooks, internal investigations, employment contracts and disciplinary measures.

Mr. Baylson’s Tort and Catastrophic Loss practice includes defense of claims involving premises liability, transportation, construction accidents, product liability, and toxic and mass tort. He has significant experience with wrongful death claims and serious injuries including traumatic brain injury, complex regional pain syndrome (reflex sympathetic dystrophy), paraplegia and quadriplegia. In the transportation area, he has litigated cases involving personal and commercial vehicles, including trucking and motor coach claims. He also represents clients in lawsuits involving contract disputes, state and federal environmental claims, and construction defects litigation on behalf of general contractors and subcontractors.

He is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara (B.A.). He received his law degree from Villanova University (J.D.), where he was a member of the Villanova Environmental Law Journal and published journal article Commonwealth of Massachusetts v. EPA: Passing the Buck on Regulation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, 17 VILL. ENVTL. L.J. 411.

In his free time, he enjoys coaching his son’s and daughter’s soccer teams, snowboarding, cooking, visiting breweries and travel.
