Richard Dannebaum

Richard Dannebaum is a highly experienced computational biologist currently serving as a Staff Scientist at Freenome since July 2025. Prior to this role, Richard held multiple positions at Bio-Rad Laboratories, including Associate Director of Software and Bioinformatics and Bioinformatics Manager from August 2021 to June 2025. Richard's previous experience includes positions as Principal Bioinformatics Scientist II at Roche Sequencing Solutions, where Richard led immune-repertoire sequencing and bioinformatics pipeline development for several next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms, and as Systems Analyst II at the Department of Energy's Joint Genome Institute, focusing on sequencing technologies. Richard began a career in bioinformatics at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research and initially worked as a Quality Control Chemist at The Lubrizol Corporation. Richard holds a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Chemistry from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
