Ashlyn Thille

Ashlyn Thille is a seasoned professional in mining engineering, currently serving as a Senior Metallurgist in Intellectual Property at Freeport-McMoRan since May 2012. Throughout a diverse career at the company, Ashlyn has held multiple positions, including Senior Mine Engineer and Mine Engineer roles focused on long-range planning, operations, and ore control. Responsibilities have included developing long-range mine plans, optimizing processing methods for copper recovery, and ensuring efficient material routing in Morenci. Ashlyn's early experiences include internships in mine planning and ore control, participation in a senior capstone design project, and volunteering at the San Xavier Student Mine. Ashlyn earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona and is currently pursuing further education at The University of Western Australia.
