Matthew Byrne

Matthew Byrne has extensive experience in IT infrastructure and consulting, spanning over three decades. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure for Asia Pacific at Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. since February 2000, Matthew has held various leadership roles within the company, including Manager of IT Infrastructure and Superintendent of Datacenter Operations. Prior to this, Matthew worked as a Technical Advisor for Ventyx, contributing significantly to cross-functional projects including MIMS ERP implementation and UNIX systems administration. Earlier career highlights include roles at Software Plus, GEAC Computers, EY, New Tech Hospitality, and THD Computer Services, showcasing a strong foundation in IT consultancy, systems administration, and quality assurance. Matthew holds degrees in IT, Business, and Accounting from James Cook University and has pursued continuous professional development through various training programs.
