Mike Sonenberg

Mike Sonenberg, PE, currently serves as the Air Quality Manager at Freeport-McMoRan since February 2023. Prior to this role, extensive experience was gained at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) from April 2016 to February 2023, where positions included Air Quality Improvement Planning Value Stream Manager, Air Permits Unit Manager, and Environmental Engineer among others. Mike's prior experience also includes roles as an Air Quality Engineering Associate at Maricopa County Air Quality Department and as an Air Quality Engineer at SWCA Environmental Consultants. An educational background includes a Master of Public Administration from Arizona State University, expected to be completed in December 2023, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Arizona.
