Susan Fumo

Susan Fumo currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources at Freeport School District 145 since June 2023 and has held the position of Board President for Rockford Promise since July 2020. Previously, Susan worked at Rockford Public Schools from March 2016 to June 2023, where roles included Executive Director of School Improvement and Director of Continuous Improvement, and served as Assistant Principal at Thurgood Marshall Middle School from August 2012 to January 2016. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Aurora University (2020 - 2023), a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Northern Illinois University (2007 - 2009), and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina (1991 - 1995), along with a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
