Ian Taylor

Ian Taylor currently serves as the Strategic Services Director at Freese and Nichols since October 2023. Prior to this role, Ian Taylor held various leadership positions at New Braunfels Utilities from October 2005 to October 2023, including Advisor to the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Engineer of Water Systems, focusing on water and wastewater planning, design, analysis, and program management. Ian Taylor also managed field operations, overseeing 335 miles of sewer and 400 miles of water infrastructure. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Project Manager at the Lower Colorado River Authority, where responsibilities encompassed all phases of electric transmission infrastructure projects, and participation in a company-wide leadership program. Ian Taylor began a career at Motorola from September 1998 to March 2002, progressing through multiple engineering and project management roles. Ian Taylor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and additional education at Sam Houston State University.
