Niklas Malmgren

Niklas Malmgren is currently the CTO at Freespee. Prior to that, they were a Team Lead at Klarna from July 2011 to August 2016. There, they were responsible for the front-end development team building the Klarna Checkout JavaScript client. Niklas's responsibilities included accountability for technical direction and delivery, leading and coaching a team of 7 developers and QA engineers, and close collaboration with Product Management for planning and follow-up. Niklas also managed agile processes such as daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and groomings.

Before Klarna, Niklas worked as a consultant for Skandinaviska Magasin1 AB from November 2010 to December 2012. Niklas also served as the Studiesocialt ansvarig, or the person responsible for creating a better work environment for students, at Uppsala teknolog- och naturvetarkår from July 2001 to June 2002.

Outside of their professional life, Niklas has also been a taxi driver for Uppsala Taxi AB from May 2006 to August 2009, and a teacher at Ankarsrums skola from August 1998 to August 1999.

Niklas Malmgren is a computer and systems sciences student at Uppsala University. Niklas is also studying computing science, English, and rhetoric.

Niklas Malmgren reports to Anne de Kerckhove, CEO. They work with Tobias Lindgren - Co-Founder and Customer Solution Architect, Daniel Petrell - EVP Sales, and Paul Albert - SVP Global New Business.
