Abdul Bangura has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Abdul started their career in 2008 as a Sales Representative at Annoited Apparel and then worked as a Cashier and Photographer at Six Flags. In 2009, Abdul joined RIT SBEVSL as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they developed a program plugin called ProMol for the PyMol software to identify active sites of proteins. Abdul also worked as a Researcher, Tester, and Template Designer in the same organization.
In 2012, Abdul became involved in leadership roles at RIT Caribbean Student Association, initially serving as Treasurer and later as Vice President and Acting President. Abdul joined the Association for Commuter Engagement (ACE) in 2013 as Chief Financial Officer, Finance Director, and Director of Finance.
Abdul's professional experience includes working at Best Buy as a Sales Consultant in 2014. From 2016 to 2021, they worked at Banfield Pet Hospital as a Client Services Coordinator. In this role, they trained staff on software platforms, set up workstations, troubleshooted devices, implemented procedures, scheduled appointments, updated medical records, and maintained exam room cleanliness.
Recently, in 2022, Abdul joined both Freethink and Big Think as an Information Technology Associate.
Abdul Bangura pursued their bachelor's degree from 2008 to 2014 at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Abdul completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) with a focus on Business Management, Chemistry, and Psychology.
In terms of additional certifications, Abdul Bangura obtained several certifications related to Google Workspace Administration from Coursera in September 2022. These certifications include the Google Professional Workspace Administrator Specialization, Google Workspace Mail Management, Google Workspace Security, Introduction to Google Workspace Administration, Managing Google Workspace, and Planning for a Google Workspace Deployment.
Furthermore, Abdul Bangura acquired CompTIA certifications, including the CompTIA IT Operations Specialist – CIOS Stackable Certification and CompTIA Network+ ce Certification in June 2022. Abdul also obtained the CompTIA A+ certification in December 2019 from CompTIA.
