Juan Carlos Fuentes Sierra, CPA has a strong background in accounting and internal audit. Juan Carlos currently holds the position of Corporate Controller/Chief Accounting Officer at FreightCar America, Inc. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Internal Audit and SOX Compliance at GrafTech International for five years. In this role, they developed and executed audit plans, supervised a team of auditors, and implemented remediation plans. Before that, they held the position of Financial Director, where they supervised closing activities and analyzed financial results. Juan Carlos also served as the Global Compliance Manager, responsible for overseeing SOX compliance activities and reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Additionally, they worked as a Senior SOX Compliance Analyst, where they executed testing of controls and communicated deficiencies to senior management. Juan Carlos Fuentes Sierra, CPA, holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Tecnológico de Monterrey, which they obtained from 1994 to 1999. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at EGADE Business School del Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance from 1999 to 2001.

In addition to their formal education, Juan Carlos has also obtained the certification of Certified Public Accountant from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in October 2021.
