Lmft Josiah Stickels

Josiah Stickels, LMFT, has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of mental health and therapy. Their most recent position was as the Chief Operating Officer at Fremont Hospital - Behavioral Health, where they provided executive management and oversaw all operations of the organization. Prior to that, Josiah worked as the Director of Outpatient Services at Foundations San Francisco, where they provided leadership and management for the clinical program.

Before these roles, Josiah held various positions at UCSF Health, including Clinical Administrative Director, Intensive Services, Program Manager, Interim Program Manager, and Primary Clinician. Josiah also worked as a Rehabilitation Therapist on a per diem basis. Josiah has also been actively involved in the field as a volunteer, serving as the President, President-Elect, Vice President, and Western Region Representative for the North American Drama Therapy Association.

Their early career included roles as a Lead Residential Counselor at Alta Mira Recovery Programs, a Milieu Therapist (Drama/Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee) at St. Mary's Medical Center, and a Housing Residential Manager at Academy of Art University. Josiah Stickels, LMFT, holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies, where they studied from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts & Spanish from Sonoma State University between 1999 and 2004. During their undergraduate studies, they also spent a year studying Theatre Arts & Spanish at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2002 to 2003. In addition, Josiah completed general education in Children's Literature at Mendocino College in 1999. Josiah obtained their license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) from the Board Of Behavioral Sciences in January 2012.
