James Armitage has extensive experience in marketing and sales leadership roles. James is currently the Marketing Director at Fresh Direct (UK), starting in April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Independent Consultant from June 2020 to April 2021, specializing in marketing consultancy.

From 2018 to 2020, James served as the Commercial & Marketing Director at Woodforde's Brewery, where they led a transformational change program and achieved double-digit sales growth. James also secured a major sponsorship deal with Premier League's Norwich City FC.

Before that, from 2013 to 2018, James held various positions at Ei Group, including Marketing & Sales Director and Head of Marketing. During their time there, they managed a team of 85 and was responsible for strategic marketing, telesales, publican recruitment, and operational support.

James has a long history with Brakes Group, where they worked from 1994 to 2013. James started as an Area Sales Representative and eventually became the Marketing Director. In this role, they oversaw the creation and implementation of the marketing strategy, customer acquisition and retention, and the development and promotion of the Brakes own brand product range.

Earlier in their career, James worked at High Technology Manufacturing Ltd as an Assistant Commercial Manager from 1991 to 1994.

James Armitage obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from City College Norwich in 1991. James then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Marketing at Kingston University from 1999 to 2000. Additionally, they obtained a CiM Diploma in Marketing from City College Norwich in an unspecified year.
