Melanie Barger

Melanie Barger has diverse work experience in alumni engagement, fundraising, and event management. From 2023 to the present, they are a Sales Associate at Fresh Ideas Management, LLC. Prior to this, from 2021 to 2023, they served as the Director of Alumni Engagement at Westminster College (MO). From 2018 to 2021, they were the Alumni Affairs Director at the MU School of Medicine, where they developed and executed strategies for alumni engagement and fund development. Before that, from 2012 to 2018, they held the position of Manager of Constituency Communications at the University of Missouri System, coordinating alumni advocacy efforts and managing various organizations. Earlier in their career, from 2001 to 2012, they were the Director of Alumni Engagement & Event Management at Westminster College (Fulton, Missouri), and they started their professional journey as a Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher/Varsity Cheerleading Coach at Moniteau Co. R-1 from 2000 to 2001.

Melanie Barger obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Human Environmental Sciences with a focus on Environmental Design/Interior Design from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Melanie further pursued their education at the same institution and completed a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Family & Consumer Sciences.
