Mary Lavelle

Mary Lavelle currently serves as a Partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since January 2024, bringing extensive experience in advising fund managers and institutional investors on various aspects of investment management, particularly in alternative asset classes. Prior to this role, Mary held a Partner position at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP from May 2019 to January 2024 and served as Counsel at O'Melveny & Myers LLP from August 2013 to May 2019. Additional experience includes a secondee role at Coller Capital and a solicitor position at Macfarlanes, as well as a legal secondee position with the European Investment Fund. Mary holds a BA in Modern Languages and Philosophy from the University of Oxford and has completed legal studies at BPP Law School.
