David Verey

Senior Advisor at Freshminds

​Sir David Verey, CBE acts as a Senior Advisor to Freshminds. An English graduate from Cambridge University, he started his working life in investment banking at Lazard Brothers and, after almost thirty years, left as Chairman in 2001 . He remains a Senior Advisor at Lazard, but has also held positions on the boards of Pearson plc, Cazenove, Blackstone UK, the Daily Mail & General Trust, LMS Capital plc, Sofina SA and the Supervisory Board of Bank Gutmann.

Sir David was knighted in the 2015 New Year Honours for services to arts philanthropy. He was on the Board of Tate from 1992 to 2004, where he served as Chair from 1998-2003. He then chaired the Art Fund from 2004-14. In 2010 he was appointed the lead non-executive on the DCMS Departmental Board and since 2013 he has chaired the Advisory Committee on the Government Art Collection. In 2014 he also joined the Board of the British Council.

He has been a senior advisor and investor in Freshminds since 2004 and has offered advice to the founders and managing directors ever since.
