Brenda Lewis, Ph. D.

Brenda Lewis currently serves as the Superintendent for Fridley Public School District since July 2023. Prior to this role, Brenda held various leadership positions, including Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education at Grand Forks Public Schools from July 2021 to July 2023, and Director of Prekindergarten-12 Curriculum and Director of Elementary Curriculum at Montgomery County Public Schools from August 2018 to June 2021. Brenda's experience also includes serving as Assistant Principal at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, Principal at Wahaha Schools, and Assistant Superintendent at Rochester Public Schools ISD #535. Brenda began their career in educational leadership at the District of Columbia Public Schools as a Principal. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Leadership in Education Administration from Capella University and several advanced degrees from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and St. Catherine University.
