Matthieu Bourdon is a Spatial Transcriptomics Scientist at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research since November 2022, focusing on engineering cell walls for biofuels and biomaterials using Arabidopsis and Populus models, while also exploring fundamental aspects of cell wall formation and biochemistry. Prior to this role, Matthieu served as a Research Associate at the Sainsbury Laboratory at the University of Cambridge from December 2015 to November 2022, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at CRAGENOMICA from April 2012 to April 2013, where research concentrated on circadian rhythm interactions in Arabidopsis Thaliana. Additional experience includes a Teaching Assistant position at Université Bordeaux1 and a PhD at UMR 1332 Biologie du Fruit et Pathologie, where Matthieu’s doctoral thesis addressed endoreduplication in tomato fruit development. Technical competencies include confocal microscopy, ultramicrotomy, immunostaining, and various microscopy techniques.
