Shane McCarthy

Shane McCarthy has over 25 years of work experience in various leadership roles in the technology industry. Shane is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Friend MTS, a high-growth SaaS cyber security company backed by private equity firm NorthEdge Capital. Prior to this, they served as a Non Executive Director at Consult Red, where they were appointed as the first independent non-executive director to the board. Shane also held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Irdeto, a subsidiary of the Multichoice Group, where they led a team of 500+ in the development and maintenance of cyber security products and services for the Video Entertainment market. Before that, they founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer and board member at Caldero, a boutique professional services consultancy in the Video Entertainment market. Shane also has experience at Pace, where they served as the President of Pace International, SVP & General Manager of Pace International, Vice President, and as a Product Manager. Additionally, they have worked at Cisco and Transitive in program management and technical marketing roles respectively. Shane began their career with various developer roles.

Shane McCarthy earned a Diploma in Electronic Engineering from Munster Technological University from 1990 to 1993. Later, from 1994 to 1996, they pursued a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, specifically a B.Eng(Hons), from The University of Bolton. Most recently, in 2021 and 2022, Shane attended Harvard Business School.
