Inez Steigerwald is an experienced educator with a focus on bilingual and multicultural education. Since August 2017, Inez has served as an Elementary School Teacher for 3rd and 4th grades at Friends Community School. Prior to this role, Inez taught 1st grade as a Spanish Lead Teacher at Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School from August 2014 to July 2017, and began there as a Teaching Fellow for Pre-K 3 and Kindergarten from June 2012 to 2014. Inez's earlier career includes positions as a Project Specialist at Kauffman & Associates, Inc., and a Program Assistant on Native American Advocacy at Friends Committee on National Legislation. Inez also gained leadership experience as a Student Manager at Haverford College Dining Center, overseeing hiring and staff management. Inez has a Master of Education in Bilingual, Multilingual, and Multicultural Education from Moreland University and a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature and Peace & Conflict Studies from Haverford College. Notably, Inez received a competitive grant to conduct oral history research in El Salvador, gathering primary data and conducting interviews in Spanish.
