Julie Cooper, RHIT has over 19 years of work experience in the healthcare industry. Julie is currently serving as the Director of Health Information Management / Privacy Officer at Friends Hospital since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the same position at Austin Lakes Hospital for 11 years. Earlier in their career, Julie worked as an Accounts Receivable Specialist at ProvidaCare from October 2008 to July 2011 and as a Medical Records Administrator / Coding Specialist at WellMed Medical Management aka Drs. McHorse, Foster and Nutson, LLP from October 2003 to October 2008.

Julie Cooper, RHIT, has a strong educational background in the field of health information management. Julie obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management from Texas State University, graduating between 2015 and 2017. Prior to that, they earned an Associate's Degree in Health Information/Medical Records Technology/Technician from Austin Community College, studying from 2013 to 2015. Furthermore, Julie holds a Certificate in Medical Insurance Coding Specialist/Coder, which they achieved in 2005 at Austin Community College. In addition to their academic achievements, Julie has also obtained the Registered Health Information Technician certification from the AHIMA institution in September 2015.
