Joe Nowland

Partner Relationship Manager at Friends of Refugees

Joe Nowland is an experienced professional focused on supporting vulnerable populations, particularly refugees. Currently serving as the Partner Relationship Manager at Friends of Refugees since June 2022, Joe builds and maintains relationships with external stakeholders. Previously, as Program Director at Downtown Academy, Joe directed an after-school program for K-5th grade students and supervised a team of four employees and over 60 volunteers. Joe's experience as a Humanitarian Worker with Mission to the World involved aiding refugee populations in Greece, teaching ESL, overseeing housing projects, and leading teams of professionals. Joe also contributed to local non-profits through roles at Perimeter Church and served as an After-School Instructor at New American Pathways. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and International Affairs from the University of North Georgia.
