Friends of Refugees
Kate Lindsey has extensive experience in community engagement and program administration, particularly in support of refugee populations. Currently serving as Administrator and Onsite Manager for Friends of Refugees since August 2017, responsibilities include overseeing critical aspects of the Refugee Family Literacy program. Previous roles include Volunteer Coordinator/Church Mobilizer at World Relief from September 2012 to June 2017, where Kate trained volunteers and organized community events. Additional roles include support for the Refugee Agriculture Partnership Program at ISED Solutions, organizational development work with Nashville Mobile Market, and internships focused on refugee resettlement and community studies. Kate holds a degree in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University, along with a study abroad experience in France.

Our unique wrap-around programming empowers New Americans to seize opportunities while bringing them into relationships that help them flourish. We focus on the critical areas of -language and literacy -maternal health and childbirth -employment and entrepreneurship -community through gardening.
