Melissa Gonzalez

Melissa Gonzalez is an experienced environmental professional with a strong background in public engagement and program coordination. Currently serving as the Public Engagement Manager at Friends of the Columbia Gorge since September 2020, Melissa previously held the role of Outdoor Programs & Communications Specialist. Prior experience includes working as a Training Specialist II for the Florida Park Service and as Program Coordinator for Audubon Florida's Conservation Leadership Initiative. Additional roles encompassed a Conservation Research Internship with the National Audubon Society and an Interpretive Ranger position with the U.S. Forest Service. Melissa's early career involved marine turtle research at the University of Central Florida, where a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies was obtained.
