Kara Lewis

Kara Lewis currently serves as Assistant Principal at Friends School of Baltimore since August 2022 and has held the role of Single School Culture Coordinator at Clifford O. Taylor/Kirklane Elementary School since February 2020, where responsibilities include coordinating instruction and support systems for a Title 1 elementary school with a high percentage of English Language Learners. Additionally, Kara has extensive experience at the School District of Palm Beach County, having worked as a Literacy Coach for Grades 1-3, an Intermediate Literacy Coach for Grades 3-5, and a Learning Team Facilitator, all while focusing on best practices in literacy instruction. Previous experience includes a teaching position at Friends Academy and the NYC Department of Education. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from Florida Atlantic University, a Masters in Elementary Education from Baruch College, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in French and Business from Skidmore College.
