Mary Wiltenburg

Mary Wiltenburg is an accomplished educator and journalist with extensive experience in teaching and media production. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Towson University and the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Mary has developed innovative coursework, including a pioneering podcasting course in Media & Communication Studies. As an Upper School English Teacher at Friends School of Baltimore since 2019, Mary has furthered students' engagement with literature and communication. A freelance reporter and producer from 2004 to 2018, Mary contributed to notable outlets such as This American Life, Esquire, and Der Spiegel, showcasing a diverse range of topics across four continents. Educationally, Mary holds a BA in English and Creative Writing from Swarthmore College and has studied at Trinity College Dublin.
