Dimitris Chortis

Dimitris Chortis has extensive work experience in various roles and positions. Dimitris started their career as a Teaching Associate at the Technological and Educational Institute of Patras, where they taught undergraduate courses in Computer Aided Design. Dimitris then worked as a Research Engineer at the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES), where they managed and executed projects focused on maximizing wind-turbine blade performance.

After that, they joined Frigoglass as an R&D Senior Engineer, responsible for improving commercial coolers through the investigation of new technological approaches. Dimitris also conducted research projects and compiled reports with scientific and technical rigor. Later, they became the Business Standardization Manager, where they worked closely with top management to implement standardization techniques and governance policies across all company plants.

Chortis then took on the role of Quality Assurance & Standardization Manager, in which they were responsible for customer complaints and cooperation with quality teams. Dimitris brought quality upstream by implementing the FMEA technique and revising Technical Folders. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Quality Assurance, Standardization & Sustainability at Frigoglass, where they oversee various aspects related to quality assurance, standardization, and sustainability in the company.

Dimitris Chortis obtained a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics from the University of Patras in 2004. Dimitris then pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Automation Systems at the National Technical University of Athens from 2004 to 2006. Dimitris went on to earn a PhD in Applied Mechanics & Vibrations Laboratory from the University of Patras, completing their degree in 2012. In 2018, they enrolled in the ALBA MBA (Part-time) program at the Alba Graduate Business School, where they focused on Business Administration, Management and Operations. Dimitris has also pursued additional certifications in various fields, such as Management & Leadership, Design FMEA, Visual Components Essentials, and others.
