R. Scott Brown has a diverse work experience, starting as a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer for American Maritime Officers from 1987 to 1992. R. Scott then worked as a Business Analyst at ExxonMobil from 1995 to 1997. After that, they served as a Consultant at The McCormick Jahncke Group from 1997 to 1998, conducting a feasibility study for a maritime container service. R. Scott then joined Accenture in 1998 as a Senior Manager in the Supply Chain Strategy Practice, where they led various projects, including developing a distribution network strategy for a computer manufacturer merger and designing a logistical network for a semiconductor manufacturer. In 2002, Brown joined Dell, where they held multiple managerial roles, including overseeing technical support operations, managing sales support operations, and driving cost savings through warranty management. Their tenure at Dell lasted until 2012. Following this, they joined Amazon, where they served as a Director, responsible for various customer service functions, including retail operations support, digital services, and Kindle customer service. In 2016, Brown joined Starbucks as a Vice President, leading the contact center operations supporting customer and employee field operations. Currently, they are the Senior Vice President at Frontdoor, Inc., the largest provider of home service plans in the US, where they oversee operations for multiple brands.
R. Scott Brown holds a Master of Science degree in Transportation from Northwestern University. R. Scott also earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on Economics and Finance from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
