Georgios Vangelis

Georgios Vangelis currently serves as a Senior Assistant in the ETIAS Central Unit at Frontex since September 2023. Previously, Georgios held the position of Senior Border Officer and Head of a Border Crossing Point with the Hellenic Police from July 2020 to August 2023. Georgios's extensive experience in law enforcement includes roles as a Senior Special Investigator and Intelligence Analyst in the Internal Affairs Division at the Ministry of Public Order & Citizen Protection from January 2015 to June 2020, and various positions within the Hellenic Police between July 2007 and December 2014, encompassing intelligence analysis, international relations, and financial crimes investigations. Academically, Georgios earned a Master's degree in Transnational Organised Crime from Staffordshire University and a Master's degree in International & European Studies from the University of Piraeus, along with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement Administration from the Hellenic Police Academy.
