Alhaji Abdullah Bukar

Alhaji Bukar has over 46 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. His career started with the Shell Group as a Trainee Facilities Engineer and spans a broad range of Engineering and Field Operations management roles which include a variety of onshore and offshore engineering projects in Nigeria, Holland and Australia over a 35-year period (1972-2007).

He retired from Shell as the General Manager, Engineering for all Shell Companies in Nigeria with annual capital expenditure in excess of US$500million annually.

A successful project manager who saw to the delivery of the Sapele and Oben Gas Projects, the East Netherlands Sour Gas and Schoonebeck Oil Redevelopment Projects, the South Forcados Development Project including the Trans-Ramos Trunkline to bring on stream and evacuate 300mbopd, the redevelopment of Forcados Crude Oil Export Terminal, as well as an Operational stint in the Northwest Shelf of Western Australia aboard the Woodside Petroleum-managed Cossack Pioneer FPSO.

As a firm believer in the capability of Nigerian Engineers, he promoted and implemented Competence Development and Training Programs to foster professional development of Nigerian Engineers and ensure maximum local content in all aspects of Oil and Gas Field Development and Project delivery. He retired from Shell in 2007 and joined the Uquo Development team where he has led the surface production facilities team till date.

Alhaji Bukar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Swansea, Wales. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and is registered with COREN.

Alhaji Bukar joined the Board of Frontier Oil in Q4 2016.
