Balaji Govindaswami possesses extensive experience in the medical field, particularly in pediatrics and neonatology. Current roles include serving as the Neonatology Reviews Editor for Frontiers in Pediatrics and as the Integrated Systems of Care Division Medical Director and Administrator, Health Policy Branch Chief for the California Department of Health Care Services. Previous positions include Secretary for the Valley Health Foundation Board of Directors and various academic roles at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, where Balaji serves as Professor in Clinical & Translational Sciences, Professor and Endowed Chair in Pediatric Preventative and Addiction Medicine, and Associate Chair. Balaji has also held the position of Division Chief of Neonatology and Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Educational qualifications include studies at the University of Kentucky and UC San Diego.
