John Imig

John Imig is a highly accomplished researcher and academic currently serving as a Research Scholar at the Arkansas Research Alliance, Chair and Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UAMS - University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and Vice President at BioVentures, LLC, all since October 2022. Imig has held key editorial responsibilities as Chief Field Editor for Frontiers in Physiology, a prominent journal in the field. Prior to these roles, Imig was Chief Scientific Officer at Diplos Therapeutics, focusing on the development of novel bifunctional molecules for metabolic diseases from July 2017 to January 2023. Imig's extensive academic experience includes positions as Professor & Director of the Drug Discovery Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin from January 2008 to October 2022, and other professorial roles at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine and Tulane University School of Medicine. Imig earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and holds a degree in Biology from Blackburn College.
