Rukhsana Ahmed

Chief Editor, Frontiers In Communication I Health Communication at Frontiers

Rukhsana Ahmed has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of communication. Rukhsana joined the University at Albany, SUNY in 2018 as an Associate Professor and later became the Chair of the Department of Communication from 2020 to 2022. In 2019, they also worked as the Chief Editor for Frontiers in Communication I Health Communication. Prior to this, they had multiple roles at the University of Ottawa, including Adjunct Professor in 2018, Full Professor in 2018, Associate Professor from 2012 to 2018, and Assistant Professor from 2007 to 2012.

Rukhsana Ahmed completed their Bachelor of Social Sciences (B.S.S.(Hons.)) in International Relations from the University of Dhaka in 1995. Rukhsana then pursued a Master of Social Sciences (M.S.S.) in International Relations from the same university, which they completed in 1997. In 1999, they enrolled at Ohio University and obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) in International Development Studies in 2000. Continuing their education at Ohio University, they attained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Health Communication in 2005. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Health Communication with primary areas of study in Health Communication and secondary areas of study in Interpersonal & Organizational Communication from Ohio University in 2007.
