Sam Merkel

Sam Merkel, CFA, currently serves as Senior Vice President of Investments at FrontRange Capital Partners, LLC, starting in April 2024. Prior to this role, Sam held the position of Senior Investment Leader at Partners Group from February 2021 to March 2024, where responsibilities included leading sourcing and execution of indirect investments in private real estate across North America. Earlier experience includes serving as Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group from June 2018 to January 2021, focusing on growth strategies and operational efficiencies, and working as an Associate at Starwood Capital Group in 2015-2016, analyzing opportunistic investments. Sam's career also includes a role as Senior Associate at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority from 2013 to 2015, evaluating debt and equity investments in U.S. commercial real estate, and as an Analyst in Real Estate & Lodging Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan from 2011 to 2013. Sam holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Chicago.
