John Coombs

John Coombs serves as the Director of Groups and Family Retreats at Frost Valley YMCA since July 2022, bringing extensive experience in program management and safety from previous positions including Program Safety Director at YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh and Challenge Course Manager at Frost Valley YMCA. Their career in outdoor education began at Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center as Program Director, followed by a similar role at Youth Odyssey, Inc. John Coombs holds a Master of Science in Community Agriculture, Recreation, and Resource Studies from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Conservation, along with an Associate's degree in Automotive Repair, both from Northern Michigan University.
