Alia Rafi

Alia Rafi is the current Principal of Investor Relations & Fundraising at FTV Capital. Alia has over 9 years of experience in the private equity industry. Prior to joining FTV Capital, they were with MVision Private Equity Advisers as a Director from November 2018 to June 2021. At MVision, they were responsible for raising capital for Private Equity, Real Estate, Real Assets, Credit and Direct transactions.

Before MVision, Alia was with Lazard as a Vice President in their Private Capital Advisory group from January 2015 to October 2018. There, they managed the fundraising process for North American alternative asset managers.

Alia started their career at AlpInvest Partners, a subsidiary of The Carlyle Group, in January 2012 as an Associate. AlpInvest manages over USD 48 billion of capital allocated across the private equity asset class, including primary fund commitments, secondary purchases and co-investments. Alia’s responsibilities at AlpInvest included sourcing and screening investment opportunities across the private equity landscape, maintaining and enhancing relationships with general partners, conducting due diligence on primary fund commitments, evaluating secondary LP interests and GP co-investments, drafting investment memorandums and presenting findings to the firm’s global investment committee, and conducting reference calls and participating in legal documentation negotiations.

Alia Rafi graduated from The Wharton School with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Management.

They are on a team with Karen Derr Gilbert - Partner, Suzanna Borthwick Butler - Principal, Executive Recruiting & Strategic Talent, and Robert Anderson - Partner. Their manager is Brad Bernstein, Managing Partner.
