Over the past 5 years the Fuel Bank Foundation has supported hundreds of thousands of people across Great Britain. We work with customers of all GB energy suppliers, providing emergency heat and light to families on prepayment plans or who prepay for their energy. We’re there when their gas and electricity meters have run out of credit, and the lights go out and the pilot light is extinguished. Citizens Advice report that 140k households annually cannot afford to top up their meter and this will only increase with COVID-19. Now more than ever, the work that Fuel Bank Foundation does is vital: providing same day support to households in crisis, ensuring that their voices are heard by policymakers, and working towards a world where people don’t have to choose between heating and eating.
