Jess Hillman

Jess Hillman is currently a Principal Geoscientist at Fugro Australia, where they began their role in 2025. Prior to this, Jess served as a Marine Geologist/Geophysicist at GNS Science from 2017 to 2024 and conducted postdoctoral research at both GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Kiel and The Ohio State University between 2015 and 2017. Jess holds a PhD in Geophysics from the University of Otago, where they also worked as a Scientist and Teaching Assistant. Their early career included internships at Petroleum Development Oman and Five Oceans Environmental Services LLC, as well as a role as a Field Assistant at Red Rock Resources.
