John Hunt

John Hunt, PG, is a seasoned geoscientist currently serving as a Senior Geoscientist and MRV Specialist at the Energy & Environmental Research Center since July 2021. In this role, John collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to address challenges related to oil recovery, geothermal energy, gas storage, and CO2 capture, while also overseeing the development of compliant Monitoring, Reporting and Verification plans. Prior to this, John worked as a Principal Consultant at Hunt Geological Solutions LLC and held positions at Chesapeake Energy, where responsibilities included evaluating non-op investments and managing acquisition opportunities. John's academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Geology from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from Brigham Young University, supplemented by research experience as a Graduate Research Assistant and an Undergraduate Research Assistant.
