Marrein Schraven

Marrein Schraven serves as the Head of Legal Europe & Africa at Fugro since March 2020. Previously, Marrein held various positions at AkzoNobel from January 2008 to October 2017, including Director Legal Corporate and Member of the Legal Management Team, where responsibilities included legal support for corporate functions with a focus on M&A, finance, corporate employment, and procurement. Additional roles at AkzoNobel encompassed Director Legal Corporate M&A and Director Legal South East Asia Pacific, providing legal support for M&A and corporate matters in the region. Marrein began a legal career at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, focusing on IT law, corporate law, and M&A transactions, with experience as a foreign associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Marrein is a certified mediator and holds a law degree from the University of Groningen, along with advanced qualifications in Corporate Law and Information Technology Law from the Grotius Academy.
