Reinout de Oude has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Reinout started their career as an intern at Hanoi National University of Science in 2006. Reinout then worked as a researcher at Deltares from 2009 to 2010. In 2012, they joined Fugro Engineers BV as a Geotechnical Engineer, where they conducted offshore fieldwork, processed and interpreted geotechnical data, and wrote reports. Reinout worked on projects in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
In 2017, Reinout joined Witteveen+Bos as a Projectingenieur Resilient Cities until 2019. Since 2019, they have been working at Fugro again, first as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Group Leader, and currently as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer and Group Leader.

Reinout de Oude completed their Bachelor's degree in Civiele Techniek en management at the University of Twente from 2003 to 2007. Reinout then pursued a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and Management at the same university from 2007 to 2010. Later, they attended Utrecht University and obtained a Master's degree in Physics from 2010 to 2012.
