Walter Schindler currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors at the Fulbright Canada Foundation and is a member of the Forbes Business Council. Since January 2013, Walter has been associated with the World Economic Forum and has held the position of Chairman and CEO at Transformation, LLC since January 2017, focusing on sustainable impact investments. Walter previously served as Chairman and CEO of SAIL Capital Partners LLC until 2015 and as Managing Partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP from June 1980 to January 1999, where strategic and legal advisory services for IPOs, mergers, and acquisitions were provided. Walter's academic credentials include a JD cum laude from Harvard Law School, a PhD in English Literature from Yale University, and experience as a Fulbright Scholar in Medieval and Renaissance Italian Literature.

The Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America is a bi-national, treaty-based, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization which was established in 1990 with a mandate to identify the best and brightest minds in both countries and engage them in residential, academic, and professional exchange. The Foundation provides support to students, graduate students, scholars, teachers, and independent researchers through a variety of programs. Our programs include all fields of scholarship, and, with the exception of medical training, are open to everyone in the pure and applied sciences, in all areas of social science, and across the humanities.
