David Mathis

David Mathis has a long and varied work experience. David began their career in 1989 with the Texas Army National Guard as a Staff Sergeant, HHC 4th 112th Armor Division, where they acted as a squad leader for an armor division support platoon and attended Basic and Advance Non-Commissioned Officer Schools. In 1998, they were recruited as IT Manager for Access MHMR, where they were responsible for an IT team of three and wrote and secured a $250,000 TIF grant to replace antiquated networking equipment. From 2001 to 2007, they served as IT Manager for Texana Center, where they provided IT leadership in the integration and migration of two different MHMR centers, and authored/secured a $750,000 TIF grant to upgrade telecommunications and IT systems. From 2007 to 2016, they worked as Infrastructure Team Lead for Wood Group Mustang, where they designed multi-tier SharePoint production farms and led a seamless migration of a three terabyte SharePoint farm. Finally, from 2016 to present, they have worked as Consulting Engineer and AWS Practice Lead for Fulcrum Technology Solutions, LLC, where they have been an AWS Solutions Architect and developed Lambda scripts using Python to automate the flow of log data from on-prem security devices to Splunk Cloud.

David Mathis obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Texas A&M University between 1989 and 1993. David has also obtained numerous certifications, including Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner (November 2019), Azure Administrator Associate (October 2019), Nutanix Platform Professional - NPP (July 2018), Blue Coat Secure Sockets Layer Visibility v2.0.1 Administrator (August 2017), Blue Coat Proxy Administrator (BCCPA) (February 2017), Splunk Certified Power User (February 2017), Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate (December 2019), CCA - Citrix Certified Administrator, CCNA, MCSE, and MCTS SharePoint Administration.
