Ed Dearden

Edward Dearden is an experienced Data Scientist currently working at Full Fact, focusing on automated fact-checking through Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning techniques. Prior experience includes a role at the BBC, where Edward analyzed audience data across various projects, and at AO, where engagement with stakeholders to apply NLP and Data Science solutions took place. Edward's academic background includes a PhD in Computer Science with a specialization in Natural Language Processing and a BSc in Computer Science, both from Lancaster University. While at Lancaster, Edward also served as a Teaching Assistant, instructing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in programming and data mining, alongside conducting independent research on disinformation.
