Charles W. Simmons

Charles W. Simmons serves as a Magistrate Judge for Fulton County Government since January 2023 and is a Senior Attorney at the City of Atlanta Office of the Public Defender since September 2022. Previously, Charles worked as an Assistant Solicitor at both the DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office and the State Court of Fulton County, contributing significantly to case management and courtroom proceedings. Earlier experience includes serving as a Staff Attorney at the City of Atlanta Public Defender's Office, defending indigent clients in various legal matters. Charles began the legal career as a Law Clerk at Williams Teusink, LLC, and as a Legal Assistant at Knox County Public Defender's Office. Charles holds a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Morehouse College.
